LILAC NEBULA | Resin Painting with Optional LED Strips for Ambient Backlighting

Tiffani created LILAC NEBULA while waiting for the James T Webb Space Telescope to deploy. The anticipation of getting crisp never before seen images in all their glory is inspirational to her imaginative approach to creating resin nebulae. The main components of this nebula focus on teals and soft lilacs that are the motif of the painting but those tones also don’t overpower the others that peek out from behind the nebulaic clouds. Working in layers, as you cast your eyes across one end of the painting to the other, you will get lost in the depth that seems to peer sculpturally inwards into a world unto its own.

As an optional free enhancement, Tiffani can install LED strips behind the painting. Bluetooth controlled, these lights elevate the piece from painting to dynamic art installation as the light color of your choice beams out from behind the painting. This system can also sync with music.

DETAILS:

  • Size: 48″ x 18″ x 1.5″

  • Materials: Pigmented Resin Painting on Poplar Birch Wood Panel (ready to hang)

  • Sides: Japanese style, “Shou Sugi Ban” effect*

*Sides: Originating in 18th century Japan, shou sugi ban is a particularly striking method of preserving wood by charring it with fire. Tiffani captures the look of this ancient tradition by sanding and staining the sides charcoal and rubbing it in to the wood grain leaving a similar effect that robustly complements the otherworldly outreach of her nebula paintings.

NOTE: This painting is best put in a high light environment so you can see all the details well, or in a dark environment to take full advantage of the LED strips’ ambient lighting. Excellent choice for restaurant or bar artworks with an incredibly unique vibe.
